Abstract
This essay deals with the socio-environmental vulnerability and quality of life of women in a municipality in the Baixada Fluminense of Rio de Janeiro, Duque de Caxias. This is a bibliographical and documentary review based on scientific articles published in databases such as Scielo, Pubmed, Google Scholar, Medline and Capes Periodicals. Articles published between 2005 and 2019 were selected. From the data presented in the article, it was possible to know the current scenario of social vulnerabilities of women in the municipality, as the article points out the determinants for the quality of life of the female population in the region, and aspects related to the high rate of domestic violence. It was found that there is a need to adopt public policies that can ensure a healthy life and well-being for women in the municipality, as advocated in the Objective of Sustainable Development No. 3, of the United Nations.
